X-Ray crystal structure of µ-5-cyclopentadienylcyclopentadiene-bis-(π-cyclopentadienylplatinum)-PtPt

Abstract

The product of the reaction between C5H5Na and PtCl2 is shown by X-ray crystal structure analysis to consist of two π-cyclopentadienylplatinum units joined by a Pt–Pt bond and a bridging 5-cyclopentadienyl-cyclopentadiene unit.
