Ionic liquid-assisted synthesis of thorned gold plates comprising three-branched nanotip arrays

Abstract

Hierarchically structured, thorned gold plates comprising regular, three-branched nanotip arrays were synthesized by a facile, one-pot reduction process in mixed solvents of the ionic liquid [BMIM][PF6] and formamide without additives.
