Effects of lanthanide complexes on the facial reactivity of 2-(2′,3′,4′,6′-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranosyloxy)benzaldehyde in hetero-Diels–Alder reactions and a model to account for such effects

Abstract

Changes in the facial reactivity of 2-(2′,3′,4′,6′-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranosyloxy)benzaldehyde towards (E)-1-methoxy-3-(tert-butyldimethylsiloxy)buta-1,3-diene in the presence of lanthanide(fod)3 complexes can be correlated with the ionic radius of the lanthanide metal.
