Synthetic Strategies to Novel Condensed Methylsulfanylazoles: Reaction of Ketene Dithiocetals with Amino- and Oxo-azoles†

Abstract

A novel synthesis of condensed methylsulfanylazoles via the treatment of [bis(methylsulfanyl)methylidene]malononitrile with amino- and oxo-azoles is reported and the synthetic potential of the method demonstrated.
