Copper(i)–NHC complexes as NHC transfer agents

Abstract

This report presents the recent advances in the use of copper(I)–NHC (NHC = N-heterocyclic carbene) complexes as transmetallating agents enabling the transfer of NHCs to a wide range of transition metals. The synthesis of these carbene transfer reagents is also discussed.
