Photoreduction of nitric acid by electronically excited diplatinum(II,II) pyrophosphite, [Pt2(P2O5H2)4]4–
Abstract
The reduction of HNO3(0.1M) to NO2– by an electronically excited platinum complex is described; the intermediate products, [Pt2II,III(P2O5H2)4]3– and HNO3–, have been identified by transient absorption spectroscopy and quenching studies.
