Abstract
IN physiological research and clinical medicine there is a need for a readily usable, non-injurious method of observing the pattern of blood ejection from the heart: from it could be derived the acceleration during early systole, a good index of myocardial strength and coordination1,2 and the integral under the flow/time curve, a measure of cardiac output and body perfusion.
