C. D. Belar et al respond to commentaries by T. W. Smith (2003), R. J. Seime (2003), N. G. Johnson (2003), and R. M. Suinn (2003) on their original article (see record 2001-00200-003 ) which discussed self-assessment in clinical health psychology. The current authors thank the commentators for their thoughtful reading of the article. For the most part, Belar et al view the comments as extending the article and taking the issues raised to the next level of analysis.
