Personality disorders in childhood and adolescence?

The improvement in treatment of personality disorders in adulthood has intensified discussions about the adaptation of the personality disorder concept for children and adolescents. This paper summarizes the arguments of the proponents and detractors of personality disorder diagnosis in childhood and adolescence. Furthermore, it discusses the arguments for and against it on the background of data on diagnostic procedures, course of personality development, and the stability of personality disorders again.
