Formation of the Primary Supramolecular Structure of Some Fibre Types in Conditions of Wet Spinning

  • Published:
Fibre Chemistry Aims and scope

Abstract

The supramolecular structure of Armos, polyacrylonitrile, and hollow polysulfone fibres was investigated by scanning electron microscopy using the solvent substitution method. The data obtained allow visualizing the characteristics of the structure in the initial stage of spinning each of the three types of fibres investigated. The supramolecular structure of the fibres found is transformed in the last stages, especially in orientational drawing, preserving some "memory" concerning the precipitation stage.
