Initiating and Cross-Linking Ability of Organic Peroxides: Chemical Kinetic Methods for the Determination

Abstract

This review surveys chemical kinetic methods for the quantitative determination of the initiating and cross-linking ability of organic peroxides ROOR" (peroxides, hydroperoxides, peroxyesters, diacyl peroxides, and peroxycarbonates). The conditions and limitations of the use of autoxidation, inhibitor, radical polymerization, and model cross-linking methods are analyzed. The results of the determination of the initiating and cross-linking ability of the most important organic peroxides are cited.
