Microwave-enhanced and conventional procedures for the synthesis of coumarin-thiophene amides, sulfonamide, and urea derivatives: Synthesis, photophysical activities, and multiple anions signalling via different mechanisms
2020, Journal of Molecular StructureCitation Excerpt :Most of these receptors are neutral in nature containing acidic hydrogen (NH or OH) which binds with the fluoride and cyanide ions through hydrogen bonding and afterwards lead to either color or fluorescence change, or both, in the sensor solution via a disturbance in their photophysical activities [6–12]. During the recent decades, a great number of fluoride ion probes containing H-bond donor sites, such as urea/thiourea [13–20], amide [21–24], imidazole [25,26], phenol [27–29], and pyrrole [30–34], have been designed, synthesized and tested for anion recognition and signalling. Amides have been associated with a wide range of biological activities such as anti-tuberculosis [35], anticonvulsant [36], analgesic anti-inflammatory [37], insecticidal [38], antifungal [39], and antitumor [40] activities.
Highly selective colorimetric and fluorescent chemosensor for fluoride based on fluorenone armed calix[4]arene
2017, Sensors and Actuators, B: ChemicalCitation Excerpt :Among these methods colorimetric approach as a convenient way and fluorescent detection as an accurate and sensitive method have considered [7]. Typically, colorimetric receptors reported in recent years for fluoride and other anions contain different combination of amid [8–11], urea/thiourea [12–15], indole [16,17], imidazole [18–20] and pyrrole units [21–23]. These units coordinate with anions through NH-X hydrogen bonds, leads to change in color through change in photophysical properties of chromogenic group which make it possible to sense the fluoride ions [24–27].
