2021, Brain Research BulletinCitation Excerpt :It was reported that adenosine A1 receptors are present in AgRP neurons in the hypothalamic arcuate nucleus of mice (Yang et al., 2015). In addition, the central adenosine suppressed the activity of AgRP neurons (Bingham and Cone, 2015; Yang et al., 2015). Therefore, it could be suggested that adenosine converted from 5′-AMP binds to adenosine A1 receptors in central AgRP neurons, which increased the gene expression of AgRP.
