    Our paper relates to the two large literatures on human capital and optimal taxation. For brevity, we focus only on a few recent contributions and refer to their literature reviews as well as the special issue on human capital and inequality edited by Corbae et al. (2017) and the volume on inequality and redistribution of the Carnegie-Rochester Conference Series (2016) for further discussion of previous research. While the wedges for labor supply and bequests in our model correspond to previous findings in the literature (Farhi and Werning, 2013; Golosov et al., 2011; Kapička, 2013; Kocherlakota, 2010; Saez, 2001; and references therein), the wedge for human capital provides novel insights.
