Case Report

A 20-year-old man with a medical history of acute childhood lymphatic leukemia and sarcoidosis type II/III 2 years before was referred to the oral and craniomaxillofacial surgery department with a painful swelling in the right temporal region and pain in the right orbit that had increased during the past 3 months. Discussion

C neoformans is a type of yeast that reproduces by budding. It is not highly pathogenic for immunocompetent individuals. It is found worldwide in soil that has been enriched by bird droppings. Cryptococcosis is prevalent in and around old buildings on which pigeons have made their home. The fungus is acquired by inhalation of airborne conidia and disseminates hematogenously.
