Electronic structure of TbNi2Ge2 by the XPS method

Abstract

The electronic structure of the TbNi2Ge2 compound was investigated in order to explain the enhancement of the effective magnetic moment. The valence band and Ni lines were examined. It has been found that the shape of Ni 2p, Ni3s, and Ni3p lines are complex and similar to those observed in Fe2NiAl, in which the Ni atom possesses the magnetic moment.
