Many studies have shown that Twitter improved medical conferences online participation from year to year by documenting increasing numbers of tweets, users and impressions [2,6–9,10–13]. One study found that after promoting use of a hashtag at the conference, their organizational profile showed a 20% increase in followers over the next week [14].
