Commentary All biliary endoscopists are familiar with the telephone cord–like appearance of the CD (even though most telephones no longer have cords!). In some cases, the CD needs to be entered and accessed (ie, to treat a patient with Mirizzi syndrome who has a stone trapped in the CD) or even traversed (ie, when a transcystic double-pigtail stent is placed to drain the gallbladder internally).
