CommunicationHierarchical porous induced competent removal of low concentration azo dye molecules by generating a leachy crystalline structure H-MIL-53(Fe)
Graphical abstract
A novel synthesis strategy was developed via introducing salicylic acid (SA) for the synthesis of a leachy crystalline material H-MIL-53(Fe) with hierarchical pores (HP) and exposed coordination unsaturated sites (CUS). Due to these characteristics, H-MIL-53(Fe) can be used as a promising adsorbent for OG removal from aqueous solutions.

Construction of CdS-Tetrahymena thermophila hybrid system by efficient cadmium adsorption for dye removal under light irradiation
2022, Journal of Hazardous MaterialsCitation Excerpt :Most of these synthetic dyes are not biodegradable in the environment, and they are toxic and suspected to be carcinogenic (Afkhami and Moosavi, 2010). These dyes even at low concentrations harm aquatic resources and at last threat human health (Feng et al., 2020). For example, Congo red (CR) is an anionic azo dye and has carcinogenic properties ( Arul et al., 2020; Kaushik et al., 2022).
Cl-based functional group modification MIL-53(Fe) as efficient photocatalysts for degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride
2022, Journal of Hazardous MaterialsCitation Excerpt :As shown in Fig. 2d, MIL-53(Fe), 1Cl-MIL-53(Fe), and 2Cl-MIL-53(Fe) had the same decomposition trend, and the weight loss before 280–310 ℃ originated from the adsorbed water or bound water molecules in the material (Wang et al., 2020). The subsequent weight loss (370 −480 ℃) corresponded to the collapse of the MOF structure as well as the decomposition of organic ligands (Feng et al., 2020). The introduction of chlorine functional groups did not have a large impact on the structure of MIL-53(Fe) because of the similar lack in ligands.
Selective electrocatalytic reduction of nitrate to dinitrogen by Cu<inf>2</inf>O nanowires with mixed oxidation-state
2022, Chemical Engineering JournalCitation Excerpt :X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was measured with an ESCALAB 250Xi using Mg Kα line as the excitation source. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) patterns were recorded with an X-ray diffractometer (Bruker D8 ADVANCE) [18]. Raman spectra were characterized by Microscopic confocal Raman spectroscopy (Invia Reflex, Renishaw) and 514 nm laser as the excitation wavelength.

2022, Chinese Chemical LettersEmerging novel polymeric adsorbents for removing dyes from wastewater: A comprehensive review and comparison with other adsorbents
2021, Environmental ResearchCitation Excerpt :These materials can be used as a host or guest in composites. Many excellent parameters can be mentioned about these materials in comparison with others like acting solvent in synthesis process as a template, the capability of modification of its pores surface, adsorption selectivity, pore geometry, huge porosity, and the tenability in their shape and size (Feng et al., 2020; Liu et al., 2020; Mahmoodi et al., 2019; Zhang et al., 2020d). In comparison to the other porous materials including zeolites and activated carbon, MOFs need lower temperature during the process (Table 8).
