Abstract

Magnoline (1), a new isoquinoline derivative, was isolated from the leaves of Magnolia sieboldii K. Koch (Magnoliaceae). Its structure was elucidated on the basis of spectral analysis including 1D, 2D NMR and HR-TOF-MS.

Experimental

IR spectra were recorded on KBr discs with a Bruker IFS-55 spectrometer (Swiss). NMR spectra (1H, 13C, and 2D NMR) were obtained on a Bruker AV-600 instrument at 600 MHz for 1H NMR and 150 MHz for 13C NMR. HR-ESI-MS spectrum was recorded on a Bruker micro-TOF-Q mass spectrometer. Silica gel for column chromatography (200–300 mesh) and for TLC plates (GF254) was purchased from Qingdao Marine Chemical Ltd.

Leaves of M. sieboldii K. Koch were collected in Benxi City, Lioaning Province, China, in
