Nineteen technical notes were published during the review period.24,48–65 Some will probably be useful in every day practice, such as the use of digital photographs to assist in the orientation of surgical specimens,48 or a laminated template to aid in the orientation of neck dissection specimens,49 but others, while potentially of interest, may have limited value. It is likely that the font size for technical notes will be reduced in future editions of BJOMS to enable a commentary to be provided by a reviewer who has tried the technique.
