The recent development of the wearable/portable sensing devices which can connect to a global network are expected to help realize advances in future medical technology known as “patient-oriented” digital healthcare. This article provides an overview of recent rapid progress in developing wearable/portable printed physical/chemical sensors for noninvasive advanced healthcare usage, and the details of our approach especially based on printed electronics. As discussed, the integration of wireless communication systems into the devices with flexible hybrid electronics technology facilitates the connection of massive personal human data to the Internet, thereby enabling personal digital healthcare services in the future.
