Abstract

Neonatal HSV infections are severe events. Due to the presence of non-specific findings, the diagnosis requires a high index of suspicion; in fact, a prompt institution of Acyclovir therapy is fundamental to reduce the burden of mortality and neurological morbidity frequently associated with this disease. Here, we review the most recent evidence in the management of neonatal HSV infections.
