5.1. Introduction

The main aim of this paper is to make the theoretical basis of technopole planning more explicit in order to inform the policy agenda more specifically. To do this the paper is divided into three main parts together with an introduction and a concluding part. Section 5.2 examines the development of neo-Schumpeterian theory on innovation.
