Novel coordination compounds of alkaline earth metals with coumarilic acid. Synthesis and characterization
2021, Journal of Molecular StructureCitation Excerpt :Coumarilic acid, a derivative of coumarin (benzo[b]furan-2-carboxylic acid, HCCA, Fig. 1), is a ligand that shows monoanionic monodentate or monoanionic bidentate bonding properties through its carboxylic acid group. The benzo[b]furan ring, which forms the main body of the structure, exists as a key pharmacophore in most of the compounds and can be isolated from natural sources 1–25,26a,b,27–51. Benzo[b]furan and its derivatives are known to be found in different natural food sources such as fruits, herbs and vegetables [2].
Alkaline earth metal (II) complexes of vitamin B13 with bidentate orotate ligands: Synthesis, structural and thermal studies
2011, Comptes Rendus ChimieCitation Excerpt :The crystal structures of the Ni(II) [19,20], Mg(II) [21], Co(II) [22], Zn(II) [23] orotate complexes have been described where orotate dianions act as bidentate ligand. The complexes of alkaline earth metal cations have recently received an increasing attention in bioorganic chemistry [24]. The coordination behavior of Mg2+ and Ca2+ has attracted the interest of many researches because of the significant role of these ions in biological processes [25–27].
