Abstract

We demonstrate that the interferometric surface-third-harmonic-generation autocorrelation function from the glass/air interface of a coverslip can be used conveniently to characterize ultrashort pulses in a high numerical aperture system. This technique has been used with pulses <20-fs in duration, demonstrating its applicability to pulse durations in this regime.
