2020, Clinical NeurophysiologyCitation Excerpt :In contrast, when we group seizures by region of onset some regions exhibit specific dynamics in the high frequency bands; and finally, 4) seizures arising from the same region tend to share similar phase-amplitude coupling dynamics between different frequency bands at their onset. We have utilized five different onset patterns in our dataset, adapted from those found in previous studies (Spencer et al., 1992a; Park et al., 1996; Velasco et al., 2000; Perucca et al., 2014; Lagarde et al., 2016; Alter et al., 2019; Lagarde et al., 2019). While it may be possible to classify seizures into other patterns, we suspect that this would not have impacted the main findings.
