Motions and crew responses on an offshore oil production and storage vessel
2009, Applied ErgonomicsCitation Excerpt :Point C was under the helicopter landing deck. From the six accelerometers it was possible to calculate the motions of the vessel in the plane of the deck in all six axes (x, y, z, roll, pitch, and yaw) at any point on the vessel assuming that it moved as a rigid object (Lawther and Griffin, 1980; Lewis and Griffin, 1997). Preliminary measurements indicated that yaw motion was small and so it was not included in the subsequent analysis.
