2023, Pharmacological Research - Modern Chinese MedicinePurification, characterization and larvicidal activity of a potent bioactive compound asarone from leaves of Acorus calamus against the culician larval mosquitoes
2022, Parasitology InternationalCitation Excerpt :The yield percentage was calculated, and the leaf extraction was stored at −20 °C until further use. Various phytochemicals compounds including proteins, carbohydrates, alkaloids, steroids, phenols, tannins, coumarins, terpenoids quinines, flavanoids and saponins of the extracts of the medicinal plants were analyzed using standard methods [21,70,76]. The eggs of A. aegypti and C. quinquefasciatus were collected by partially immersing filter paper in water sources at specified places in and around the University of Madras, Guindy Campus.
In vitro antioxidant, anticholinesterase, tyrosinase activity studies, and LC-MS/MS simultaneous determination of 37 bioactive compounds in Indigofera heterantha
2022, South African Journal of BotanyCitation Excerpt :The extracts were concentrated with the help of a rotary evaporator, and then dried using a water bath till the complete evaporation of the solvent and were stored in the refrigerator at 8 °C. Phytochemical screening of the extract of Indigofera heterantha whole plant was performed by using standard procedures as described by Sofowora (1993), Rice et al. (1995); Harborne (1973). The crude extracts were tested for the existence or absence of secondary metabolites like alkaloids, steroidal mixtures, and compounds of phenol, flavonoids saponins, cardiac glycosides, and tannins.
