Abstract

The investigation of size-dependence for three-periodic Fourier harmonics may resolve between the model with the long-range correlations for different nucleotides and the representation of the genome in terms of a mosaic picture with uncorrelated structural units. The study indicates superstructural organization in genomic DNA sequences. The possible physical mechanisms for formation of such a structure are discussed.
