2010, Journal of Hand SurgeryCitation Excerpt :The use of these procedures in contemporary CTR surgery is rare but may be used in the setting of a patient with extensive flexor tenosynovitis or in a patient with severe epineural scarring in a revision CTR. Although this study did not document the total number of cases with ancillary procedures, it is likely to be low, given that more recent literature failed to support such procedures in standard CTR surgery.27–31 The study strengths include the large size and diversity of the patient population and the integrated electronic medical record system used by the health care system.
