Abstract

The paper intends to clarify one aspect in the comparison of relation representation by tables and by networks. This is done by using the point set representation of a relation as a conceptual link between the views to be compared. It is shown, how a tabular representation can be transformed into a functional representation and vice versa. Finally it is indicated, that the real interest in the concepts discussed is for types rather than for single relations.
