Resistance to alkylating agents and platinum derived drugs can involve a modification of the uptake of the drug [21], or an increased inactivation of the drug by sulfhydryl group containing molecules such as GSH [4] or an increased export [22]. It has been shown that in human leukemia cells, γ-GCS is increased after CDDP treatment coordinately with the MRP/GSH pump [22].
