Abstract

5-Diazouracil, which has been recommended in cancer chemotherapy, induced DNA repair synthesis in isolated rat hepatocytes. Repair synthesis was determined by means of the bromodeoxyuridine (BrdUrd)-CsCl-gradient centrifugation method. The validity of this technique was demonstrated using various DNA damaging compounds.
