Intrapartal resection of the double cervix and longitudinal vaginal septum after hysteroscopic resection of the complete uterine septum, resulting in a term vaginal delivery: A case report
2016, Case Reports in Women's HealthCitation Excerpt :This unusual Müllerian anomaly of complete uterine septum, double cervix and longitudinal vaginal septum does not fit in the commonly used classification system of anomalies suggested by Buttram and Gibbons [6], Acién and coworkers classified it as anomalies “without a classification” [3] and finally ESHRE/ESGE consensus on the classification of female genital tract congenital anomalies properly classified this type of anomaly according to anatomical variations [7]. This rare type of anomaly is reported in several publications [8–10], the largest case series of 16 patients from Patton et al. [11]. For diagnostic purposes some authors have emphasized the utility of laparoscopic-assisted hysteroscopy, whereas others used MRI for definitive and noninvasive diagnosis.
Müllerian anomalies "without a classification": from the didelphys-unicollis uterus to the bicervical uterus with or without septate vagina
2009, Fertility and SterilityCitation Excerpt :We had thought it was common and had even published a case with these characteristics presenting with bilateral simultaneous gestation and preterm vaginal delivery (10). Afterward, publications consisting of three new cases (11), five new cases (3), nine cases and a review of the previously reported eight cases (2), and one case (1, 12, 13) have appeared, as well as some with a leiomyoma on the uterine septum (14) or with a blind vagina and ipsilateral renal agenesis (15). However, in some of these publications (3), when we look at the figures included we believe they are simply complete septate uteri with longitudinal vaginal septum.
