2019, British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial SurgeryCitation Excerpt :A maxillary sinus lift is done when there is insufficient bony height for insertion of a dental implant in the posterior maxilla. It is defined as the opening of a bony window on the lateral wall of the maxillary sinus, lifting of the remaining window through the sinus cavity, and creation of a gap to be filled with different types of bone graft.1 Common complications may be bleeding, postoperative maxillary sinusitis, and perforation of the Schneiderian membrane.2

2017, Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial SurgeryA multifunctional porous scaffold with capacities of minimally invasive implantation, self-fitting and drug delivery
2016, Materials Today ChemistryCitation Excerpt :The original cylindrical scaffold (diameter = 8 mm, length = 4 mm) was first deformed via compression to obtain a compressed shape (d = 4 mm, l = 12 mm). The surgical process was modified according to a previous report [34]. All dogs were sacrificed after 12 weeks, and the sinus explants were fixed overnight in 4% paraformaldehyde solution (PBS, pH 7.4) and then analyzed by using the CT technique and histological examination.
