Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of the literature concerning the mathematical modelling of spray drying. Three main groups of mathematical models have been distinguished. A novel mathematical model has been proposed and solved. In the model experimental data distributions of particle diameters du spraying are used. In the calculations, physicochemical parameters of the drying agent in a cross-sectional area of the dryer were assumed to be consta Trajectories of changes in temperature and humidity of the drying agent as well as of temperature, moisture content and diameters of particular fractio particles along the dryer height were obtained. A comparison of theoretical results and experimental data revealed that they were in good agreement.
