2013, Best Practice and Research: Clinical HaematologyCitation Excerpt :Deregulated release and response to tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) has been described in both MDS with trisomy 8 and Behçet's disease, and anti-TNF treatment with infliximab might be useful to treat both diseases, particularly in cases with ocular involvement [23]. Seronegative oligo- and polyarthritis may be diagnosed concomitantly with MDS, sometimes mimicking LE when associated with fever, cutaneous lesions and in few cases effusions and haemolysis [24,25]. Joint involvement may be controlled by corticosteroids, independently of the clinical course of MDS.
