Tribological application of carbon nanotubes in a metal-based composite coating and composites
2003, CarbonCitation Excerpt :The friction coefficients were measured under steady state friction, and were obtained from the average of five tests. The friction and wear properties of CNT/Cu-matrix composites were examined under dry conditions using a pin-on-disk test rig which is similar to the one used by Poonawala et al. [16]. Wear specimens of CNT/Cu-matrix composites were machined to a cross-sectional area of 20×20 mm, and then were polished with 1000 mesh SiC paper and degreased with acetone before testing.
