Abstract

A picture language for a class of pictures made up of line-like curvilinear elements is presented. The description generated is natural and highly expressive. The description schema is shown to be capable of generating real-life pictures, interpreting pictures with real-life deformations and revealing structural information present in the picture. Implementation of a program to compare two PLANG descriptions structurally is discussed. Relationships, such as mirror image, rotated-version, a-part-of, are derived through some simple operations.
