On the asymptotic eigenvalues of an inhomogeneous circular waveguide

Abstract

An asymptotic formula is presented by means of which WKB's eigenvalues of a circular waveguide can be corrected in analytic form. Maslov's formula derived in 1960 for the determination of Schrödinger's eigenvalues is given for comparison. Both results are shown to be in complete agreement in a specific case.
