Abstract

Administration of estrogen increased urinary histamine excretion (UHE) in male rats but showed no apparent effect on UHE in female rats. Progesterone was without effect on UHE in male rats. Ovariectomy produced only temporary rise in UHE. It is likely that male sex hormone is the cause of sex difference in UHE in rats.
