An overview of 124I production at a medical cyclotron by ALICE/ASH, EMPIRE-3.2.2 and TALYS-1.6 codes
2016, Applied Radiation and IsotopesCitation Excerpt :In Fig. 2, the results of nuclear model codes are compared with the experimental values that are available in literature. The results show the approximately good agreement with the Scholten et al. (1995) data in all energy regions for TALYS code. The measured values by Kondo et al. (1977) show the shifts to high energy region. There is only one experimental data for this reaction in literature (Hohn et al., 2001).
Calculation of excitation functions of proton, alpha and deuteron induced reactions for production of medical radioisotopes 122-125I
2015, Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and AtomsCitation Excerpt :The results of the theoretical and the experimental excitation functions for 124Te(p,2n)123I reaction (Fig. 13) have an important inconsistency thereafter threshold, except for in the 22 and 30 MeV energies. The values by Scholten et al. [4] are lower for the other measurements and the model calculations, and the data reported by Takacs et al. [27] and by Kondo et al. [30] are discrepant for the level density calculations. The excitation functions calculated with FGM and GSM for the radionuclide 124I are shown in Figs. 14–20.
Evaluation of excitation functions of proton and deuteron induced reactions on enriched tellurium isotopes with special relevance to the production of iodine-124
2010, Applied Radiation and IsotopesCitation Excerpt :The cross sections for this reaction have been measured several times (see Table 1). The early measurements (Kondo et al., 1977; Van den Bosch et al., 1977) show shifts towards high energy region; they were therefore discarded as discussed in previous evaluations (cf. Kurenkov et al., 1999; Gul et al., 2001; Capote et al., 2008). Thus the experimental data of only Acerbi et al. (1975) and Scholten et al. (1995) could be considered for the evaluation.
