    2012, Egyptian Heart Journal
    Citation Excerpt :

Clinical examination stressed on conventional CV risk factors, duration of diabetes and degree of hyperglycemia, BMI and erectile dysfunction. Laboratory investigations were performed stressing on lipogram,8 urinary albumin excretion9 and HBA1-c.10 Resting ECG, exercise treadmill test and echocardiography were performed. Painless myocardial ischemia was considered positive when there was no chest pain inspite of 1 mm or more ST segment depression during the exercise stress tests.11

2007, European Journal of Internal Medicine
    Citation Excerpt :

A fasting blood sample was collected aseptically from all subjects and a 2-hour postprandial blood sample was also collected for postprandial blood glucose estimation. An aliquot of fasting blood sample was collected on EDTA and analyzed within a few hours to estimate the percentage of glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) using a fast ion exchange resin separation method [26], with kits supplied by Stanbio Laboratory (Texas, USA). The remaining fasting blood sample was allowed to clot at room temperature for about 1 h; it was then centrifuged for at least 10 min at 2000 rpm, and the serum was aspirated and divided into aliquots in small plastic tubes.
