2022, Behaviour Research and TherapyCitation Excerpt :Recent work has found that youths with anxiety disorders report significantly lower self-efficacy than non-anxious controls (Lewis et al., 2020). FA has been posited to be associated with reduced youth self-efficacy, perhaps due to suggestions of the family's lack of confidence in the youth's ability to cope with their anxiety without familial interference (Ginsburg et al., 2004). Despite this theoretical grounding, the association between FA and self-efficacy has not been investigated.
