CRISPR/Cas9-mediated generation and analysis of N terminus polymorphic models of β<inf>2</inf>AR in isogenic hPSC-derived cardiomyocytes
2021, Molecular Therapy Methods and Clinical DevelopmentCitation Excerpt :Since the RE combination is almost absent in the human population, and therefore has no clinical significance, it was omitted from the following experiments. Using release of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) as a measure of cell death,37,40 we found that all isogenic hPSC-cardiomyocyte lines showed substantial toxicity after 24 h of exposure to doxorubicin at 3 and 30 μM (Figure 7). However, the level of toxicity differed significantly, with GE and RQ showing highest and lowest sensitivity, respectively, and GQ falling between these two extremes.

2019, Toxicology in VitroIsocitrate dehydrogenase 2 deficiency exacerbates dermis damage by ultraviolet-B via ΔNp63 downregulation
2018, Biochimica et Biophysica Acta - Molecular Basis of DiseaseCitation Excerpt :LDH is easily leaked into the serum from cells under circumstance such as cell is damaged or death [29]. Although LDH leakage is not specific to certain diseases, LDH is still useful as a marker of apoptosis and inflammation to estimate the level of stress [30]. As shown in Fig. 5D, an increase in serum LDH activity was detected the Idh2−/− mice compared with that of the Idh2+/+ mice under exposure to UVB.
Development of L-lactate dehydrogenase biosensor based on porous silicon resonant microcavities as fluorescence enhancers
2015, Biosensors and BioelectronicsCitation Excerpt :LDH is released from damaged tissues, hence the increase of LDH levels in the blood is indicative of a pathological condition, making it one of the most important markers of injury or disease. The up-regulation of this enzyme has been reported to serve as an aid for early detection of cell death levels (Moran and Schnellmann, 1996) and is correlated with conditions such as pulmonary cancer (Hou et al., 2009), leukaemia (Kastritis et al., 2010), melanoma (Ho et al., 2012) and chronic wounds (James et al., 2000). Due to its significance in the early stage of disease diagnosis, sensitive biosensors capable of monitoring LDH activity have recently grown in importance (Kastritis et al., 2010; Kato et al., 2006).
