Colorimetric ‘naked eye’ sensor for fluoride ion based on isatin hydrazones via hydrogen bond formation: Design, synthesis and characterization ascertained by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Ultraviolet–Visible, Computational and Electrochemical studies
2020, Inorganic Chemistry CommunicationsCitation Excerpt :The upfield shift of aromatic protons gives us further evidence for the deprotonation. On further addition of F− ions of 1.0 and 2.0 equivalent, NH peak was disappeared followed by further upfield shift of aromatic protons indicating the deprotonation of NH proton of the indole binding site [35]. Therefore, such strong interaction of the OH and NH protons in the R-IND with F− ions might be due to internal charge transfer, which accounted for the long bathochromic shift and the generation of purple color (Scheme 2).
Chemodosimeters for optical detection of fluoride anion
2020, Coordination Chemistry ReviewsCitation Excerpt :The chemodosimeter 63 was further used on the cellulose strips for the detection of F− ions (Fig. 17). Diphenylacetylene based colorless chemodosimeter 64 (Chart 11) [107] in CH3CN-HEPES buffer (9:1) gave new absorption band at 420 nm accompanied with yellow colour in the presence of NaF. Kinetically signal saturation was achieved in 4 h.
Selective and sensitive colorimetric naked-eye detection of Cu2+ ion by a triazole-linked glucofuranose derivative in aqueous medium
2018, Inorganica Chimica ActaCitation Excerpt :Triazole linked compounds 2 and 3 were synthesized by condensation of (4) with the 2-ethynyl-4-nitrophenol derivative 5 and 2-ethynyl phenol, respectively, in tBuOH-THF-H2O (1:1:1, v/v) solution (scheme 1). Compound 5 was synthesized from 2 to iodo-4-nitrophenyl acetate [59] through Sonogashira coupling reaction (Scheme S1). Compound 1 was obtained from triazole linked acetate 2 after deacetylation by hydrazine monohydrate (N2H4·H2O) in MeOH.
Naphthalene based lab-on-a-molecule for the highly selective and sensitive detection of CN− and Ag+ in aqueous solution
2016, Sensors and Actuators, B: ChemicalCitation Excerpt :On account of these uses, the determination of cyanide and/or silver in water samples can be considered of great interest in real life. Although previous works have involved the development of a wide variety of chemical and physical sensors for the detection of cyanide or silver [15–17] by Lewis acid-base interactions [18–21], hydrogen-bond interactions [22,23], and anion-induced chemical reactions [24–27], the dual sensing of both cyanide and silver ions with high selectivity and sensitivity have rarely been reported. Therefore, the development of robust and sensitive platforms for their real-time analytical detection of both cyanide and silver ions will facilitate the design and application of cost-effective multi-ion probes.
