To the Editor:
We wish to make the first report in the emergency medicine literature of acute psychosis caused by antimalarial prophylaxis. A 35-year-old air force sergeant presented to the emergency department with manic and psychotic symptoms. His symptoms had begun 1 to 2 weeks earlier and consisted of a mild decrease in sleep duration accompanied by a heightened desire to read the Bible.
