Myelin basic protein in traumatic brain injury
2020, Biomarkers for Traumatic Brain InjuryStudying gene expression profile of rat neuron exposed to 1800 MHz radiofrequency electromagnetic fields with cDNA microassay
2007, ToxicologyCitation Excerpt :Except for cytoskeleton-related genes, the results of our experiment displayed that some other up-regulated membrane skeleton-related genes as well, such as Mbp and Plp. Mbp, which produce specific component of membrane protein of nerve myelin sheath, were taken as the markers for central nerve system (CNS) material damage, especially a guide for myelin sheath dislocation (Mukherjee et al., 1985; Nakagawa et al., 1994). As for Plp, it was reported that its spontaneous mutation might cause serious CNS functional turbulence (Greer and Lees, 2002) and its expression is controlled tightly, either Plp up-regulation or Plp down-regulation result in detrimental effects on organism (Wight and Dobretsova, 2004).
