A program for personal computer in Basic Language calculates the dimensions of the blank of the subsequent forms of a steel metal sheet used to obtain, by deep drawing, a piece with final rectangular plant. The calculation is followed by the plotting of the plant views of all the successive forms involved.

The Authors are indebted to ROMANOWSKI's work, from which the procedure is drawn, and in particular for basic assumptions regarding the admissible drawing ratios and the algorithms to define the geometrical features of the forms. On the other hand they have developed a method of successive approximations, which is incorporated in the program, to minimize the number of intermediate forms and to optimize their dimensions. The program puts itself as a first step towards a more general handling of the problem.
